Introduction

Solnex Limited ("Solnex", "we", "us", or "our") is a technology company incorporated in Nigeria (RC8983139) that operates a Telegram-based, non-custodial cryptocurrency trading platform accessible via @tradeonsolnexbot. We enable Nigerian users to buy, sell, and convert digital assets — including SOL, USDC, and USDT — against the Nigerian Naira (NGN).

In the course of providing these services, we collect and process certain personal and financial data. This Policy sets out how Solnex collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects that data in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation 2019 (NDPR) and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA). It also specifically addresses our obligations arising from our integration with Mono Technologies Nigeria Limited ("Mono") and the use of Mono's Connect, Prove, and Look-up products.

By using the Solnex platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this Policy.

Scope of This Policy

This Policy applies to all users of the Solnex Telegram bot and website. It governs personal data collected directly by Solnex and data retrieved on a user's behalf through third-party integrations, specifically:

4

Categories of Personal Data Collected

4.1 Data Collected Directly

When you interact with the Solnex platform, we may collect:

  • Telegram user ID and username
  • Wallet addresses provided for receiving digital assets
  • Transaction history within the Solnex platform
  • Communication records with our support channels

4.2 Data Retrieved via Mono Integration

Where a user consents to linking their bank account through Mono, the following data may be retrieved or processed:

  • Full name as registered with the bank
  • Bank account number and sort code
  • Bank name and account type
  • Identity verification data (via Mono Prove), including BVN-linked name confirmation
  • Account balance and transaction history, only to the extent required to confirm sufficient funds for a transaction

Solnex does not store raw BVN numbers. Identity verification is conducted entirely within Mono's secure infrastructure, and Solnex only receives a confirmation result (verified / not verified).

5

Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data for the following purposes, each supported by a lawful basis under the NDPA 2023:

6

Data Retrieved via Mono: Specific Use and Management

Solnex integrates with Mono Technologies Nigeria Limited to power its NGN payment infrastructure. The following describes how each Mono product is used and how associated data is managed:

6.1 Mono Connect

Mono Connect enables users to securely link their bank accounts to the Solnex platform. The user authenticates directly within Mono's interface; Solnex receives a tokenised account reference and account metadata (name, bank, account number). This data is used solely to initiate payment instructions on the user's behalf. Solnex does not store bank login credentials.

6.2 Mono Prove

Mono Prove is used to verify a user's identity by confirming that the name on the linked bank account matches the name on record. This is part of our know-your-customer process. Solnex receives only the result of this verification and does not retain the underlying identity data beyond what is needed to maintain an audit record.

6.3 Mono Look-up

Before disbursing a NGN payout following a sell order, Solnex uses Mono Look-up to validate the destination bank account number and confirm the account name. This reduces the risk of misdirected payments. The queried account details are not stored beyond the duration of the transaction in question.

6.4 Mono Direct Debit

When a user confirms a buy order, Solnex initiates a Direct Debit instruction via Mono to collect the corresponding NGN amount from the user's linked bank account. The mandate is held and managed by Mono; Solnex does not hold, store, or have direct access to the user's bank credentials or card data. Solnex receives a webhook notification confirming the status of the debit, after which the corresponding digital asset is released to the user's wallet.

6.5 Mono DirectPay

When a user confirms a sell order and the transaction is validated, Solnex initiates a payout via Mono DirectPay to the user's registered bank account. The payout is triggered by Solnex's system following confirmation that the digital assets have been received. Mono processes the NGN transfer; Solnex receives a webhook confirming disbursement status.

7

Data Retention

Solnex retains personal data only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected or as required by applicable law:

At the end of the applicable retention period, data is securely deleted or anonymised such that it can no longer be attributed to an individual.

8

Data Sharing and Third Parties

Solnex does not sell personal data to third parties. We share data only in the following circumstances:

All third-party service providers with whom we share data are required to process that data in accordance with the NDPA 2023 and to implement adequate security measures.

9

Data Security

Solnex implements technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. These include:

In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in risk to the rights and freedoms of users, Solnex will notify the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, and affected users without undue delay.

10
